The Transfer Equivalency Guide is primarily intended to provide course transfer information to prospective transfer students and their advisors at other institutions. However, the tool is also useful for current students who may want to complete coursework at other institutions during summer quarter. Details about reading the guide itself, including how to understand abbreviations for attributes, can be found on the Understanding the Transfer Equivalency Guide page.
Information for Prospective SPU Students
The Transfer Equivalency Guide can be especially helpful when used in conjunction with the Degree Requirements for your intended major (listed in the SPU Undergraduate Catalog) and the Suggested Course Sequence sheet for your program
Used together, these three tools can help you plan which courses to take before coming to SPU and can help you understand how courses you have already taken will count toward your SPU degree.
If you do not see a course listed in the equivalency guide for your transfer institution, most likely this course has not been reviewed. Prospective students with questions about course transferability should contact Undergraduate Admissions.
Information for Current SPU Students
Courses in the Transfer Equivalency Guide are not guaranteed to transfer without prior approval from your academic counselor. If you are a current SPU student planning to take a course outside of SPU, check with your academic counselor to ensure that plans to attend elsewhere will fall within SPU’s transfer policies. If you do not see a course listed in the equivalency guide for your transfer institution, most likely this course has not been reviewed. Contact an academic evaluator to request a course evaluation.
